What “half-waist” means: the supplier labels this column “waist 1/2”. It describes the garment’s waistband width laid flat, not a recommended body-waist circumference. The chart does not specify waistband stretch or measurement tolerance.
How to compare your fit
Lay a similar low-rise garment that fits you comfortably flat and measure straight across its waistband. Compare that width with the half-waist column. Also measure around the point where you wear a low-rise waistband, keeping the tape level and comfortably snug. Do not use the half-waist number as your body circumference.
